Please read all of the info below. If you do not upgrade to a newer version of Rapid Recovery before 3/12/2018, you will not be able to create a ticket to get support for your older EOL cores from Quest or eFolder.
The current build of this product is Rapid Recovery 220.127.116.11. In addition, support for AppAssure 5.4.3.x will be discontinued on March 12th, 2018. Please visit AppAssure Product Lifecycle Table (https://support.quest.com/appassure/lifecycle) and Rapid Recovery Lifecycle Table (https://support.quest.com/rapid-recovery/lifecycle) for more information on the complete version history and current level of support by version.
We would like to help ensure that you can continue to use the Quest product successfully by suggesting you upgrade to the latest version of Rapid Recovery. As you may or may not be aware, there is an upgrade path from AppAssure to Rapid Recovery, it is free to upgrade (as long as maintenance contract with Quest is current), your AppAssure license will work with Rapid Recovery. In order to start the upgrade process, please create a ticket by emailing us as at firstname.lastname@example.org or log into our portal at (https://support.efolder.net/hc/en-us/requests/new) to submit a ticket. The target core will need to be upgraded first here at eFolder. Also, support for older OS's has changed. Please review the KB linked below prior to the upgrade to make sure your agents will work with this latest version.

Please see How to Upgrade from AppAssure 5.x to Rapid Recovery 6 (https://support.quest.com/rapid-recovery/kb/181997) for upgrade details locally. eFolder support can offer guidance, but please keep in mind that you may need to contact Quest support for local assistance. If you have a Dell Appliance, you must first update the RUU before installing the latest version. This ensures your system drivers are up to date. Several reboots may be required.
Benefits of upgrading include:
- Rapid Recovery 6.x has many new features, improvements, and full support that can make using the product more effective and efficient for your business.
The Rapid Snap for Virtual feature of Rapid Recovery lets you protect virtual machines (VMs) on specific Hypervisor platforms without installing the Rapid Recovery Agent on each guest machine.
- Dell branded versions may not be distributed for any reason – including any upgrade use cases. This is relevant for all AppAssure 5.4.x customers. You will need to have an active maintenance agreement with Quest in order to download v18.104.22.168 and upgrade you local core.
- If you do not upgrade to a supported version of Rapid Recovery, Quest or eFolder will not be able to provide you a means of upgrading your product or provide any additional support past the EOL Date.
- It is of course our goal to ensure that you are able to maintain your backup environment now and in the future. Please plan to take action now by upgrading your product to a supported version by 3.12.2018!
Please see How to Upgrade from AppAssure 5.x to Rapid Recovery 6, for more information regarding the March 12th deadline. This KB provides best practice and recommended steps for upgrading from AppAssure builds to the most recent version of Rapid Recovery 6.
